Park at Penn's Landing Making Progress

We check out construction of the 11.5-acre park, with some major plans for 2025.

It has been almost exactly six months since we checked on progress at the Park at Penn’s Landing. This new landmark has been in the works for years, with the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation spearheading this nearly half-billion-dollar endeavor. While it won’t be ready for the huge Philly 250 celebrations planned for the Semiquincentennial next summer, we’d wager that a 2028 opening date is reasonable. Look for new steel beams over 95 - and perhaps a new South Street bridge further south as well. We’re loving these designs from Hargreaves Jones and KieranTimberlake.
